Healthy Heart Day Was A Huge Success

Healthy heart day was about getting people interested in their health and wanting to do more to improve it. It was held in the shopping centre an Beaumont Leys September 2006. It started promptly at 10am (queue had been waiting since 9.30!), and ended at 4pm. We estimated having seen about 100-150 people, who were able to get health education around, smoking, diet, blood pressure, cholesterol, medication, palpitations, pacemakers, in fact anything to do with your heart. We had been able to secure two machines to measure cholesterol, and blood pressure machines. We also promoted the five a day fruit and veg, which you can see from the display looked very impressive, I have to say that all of this was eaten by the end of the day - mainly by the children who visited the event. Overall we were overwhelmed by the attendance, and hope to run it again in the future. Here are some of the photos from the day. Not to mention the patience which was shown by all those who turned up early, as we had a slight delay getting electrics to the stand.
